“Painting outside changes your whole perspective of how one perceives light. After painting in plein air, I began to look at all my paintings differently. Maybe it’s a transformation of the soul, of becoming more attune to nature’s beauty, a reminder of how fleeting life is.
Light illuminates our world and makes it beautiful. I’m intrigued with warm sunlight against green grass, cool shadows beneath sun warmed trees, a splash of light on blue water that can turn steely grey with the movement of clouds.
Nature is a quick-change artist, and it’s her ever changing moods that I hope to capture in my paintings.”
Through the years, Carol studied painting under the following successful artists: Dottie Green – Teacher and professional watercolorist; Tan Gillespie – Professional watercolorist; Jim Dodd – Member of Oil Painters of America; and Sherry Martin – Teacher & Professional Painter in all Mediums
